After the New Year Countdown TV spot of Oz the Great and Powerful, this upcoming Disney movie has steadily built steam for its hype machine. Acting as a prequel for the popular story of the Wizard of Oz, the movie Oz the Great and Powerful will star James Franco as the young wizard Oscar Diggs as he gets introduced to the land of Oz. He will get to meet beautiful witches and magicians in Mila Kunis (Theodora), Michelle Williams (Glinda) and Rachel Weisz as Evanora.
Mariah Carey even took time off from her busy schedule as American Idol judge when she recorded a song for Oz the Great and Powerful. The film was directed by Sam Raimi and will open in theaters on March 8, 2013.
