Hi Chris,

Thanks for your comment :)

I agree with you entirely. Timing is of great essence, and that is also somewhat related to the kind of partners you are working with to roll out your products - the licensing agents, cartoon distributors and the merchandisers.

Hi Aldric,

Great post; and many thanks :)
I DO notice that sometimes the bedding criteria for a 'GREAT' character rests on 'timing'... that is to say, WHEN it's positioned into the public's eye (domain).

A new character (personality on the scene) , will after all, be viewed subjectively *in relation to* those that are currently 'warmed towards' at any given time. (Much like, as we all are aware, offsetting the 'good guy' in a film or short against the 'bad guy' character-wise.....

Surely, in other words to display an amazing (or perhaps even a mediocre character) at the wrong time; it can easily be past by; even forgotten.

For example:
Exhibiting an 'IronMan' styled character (even NOT being Ironman per se) imminently after the public release of the film (merchandising et al), can be detrimental to an otherwise 'Great' character?

RE: 'Antz' 'A Bugs' Life', and worse yet 'Fly me to the Moon' ;)
