Today we take a break from our updates of the latest 3D cartoon animation news to bring to you the sad condition of our brothers here in the Gaza Strip. The following images you will see are just a preview of what innocent Palestinians have to go through in their war-torn country. There are no special visual effects or 3D animation involved here; this is the real deal.
This tragedy happened in the UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) School in Beit Lahia, Gaza. Five months ago, this school was targeted by Israeli helicopters with some massive artillery killing many innocent lives. Note that most of the weaponry used here was white phosphorus. This substance is used primarily for smoke screens and the likes but it has the secondary function of causing serious burns and deaths to people who come close to it.
Think of all the innocent children in this school.
Instances of violence such as this is very prevalent in the Middle East that people in the comfort of their seats watching television may have become desensitized with these happenings. Somehow there is now a sense of normalcy about these crimes and tragedies. It is as if it is meant to happen naturally and it is no longer news. The thing is it is not. These conflicts are man-made and they can only be stopped by humans themselves.
Silence is a form of agreement and this is what people do when they ignore the consequences and implications of war. It may be the conflict of two countries against each other – but as we have witnessed from the two World Wars, it can get globally messy in a minute.
The conflict of Israel and Palestine has been going on for ages. Presently, Israel has put a blockade on the city of Gaza ever since Hamas took over the city in 2007. This has resulted to endless forms of violence, making Gaza the city with refugees making up half of its residents.
The situation in Gaza is only one of many conflicts in the Middle East. Of course there is Afghanistan and Iraq and their animosity towards the United States. Presently, the country of Iran is making headlines daily because of the chaos in its political system.
So how can we help? Since we cannot just barge in and participate in the conflict directly and all of a sudden, the key here is to contribute in whatever way we can. In our small ways we can make a difference. Users of Twitter have been using their profile pictures by putting green ribbons in support of all the innocent people in Iran. You can always blog about it to inform and educate people. Here at Mediafreaks we used our own platform to try to spread the word about the evils of war.
This is a call for humanity. Only you can know how you can contribute for the propagation of peace everywhere. After all, a wise man once said that war is not about who is right but about who is left. Here in our 3D animation studio, Mediafreaks condemns war.
