Behind the Scenes of Hulk’s Special Effects in The Avengers

Mark Ruffalo and The Incredible Hulk stole the show in Marvel’s the Avengers — a huge reason why Ruffalo was handed a six picture mega deal with Marvel to keep portraying the Hulk. A large part of the Hulk’s success can be credited on the 3D Animation motion capture work done on the Green Goliath. Here are the behind the scenes thoughts of the team behind the Hulk’s performance.

A big decision that contributed to the success of the Hulk was using Mark Ruffalo himself to portray the actual hulk using motion capture. It connected Bruce Banner with the Hulk and thus made a more realistic rendition of the brawny hero. This was in full display when Thor battled it out with the Hulk. Industrial Light and Magic is behind the fine work behind this difficult task.
