Same with Mickey Mouse’s timeless fame, there is a cartoon character or should I say, a robot, who is coming back to life again! Few people born in the 1980s would fall short of recognizing the small and mighty figure of a robot boy soaring through the sky.

There is no one but Astro Boy. I, for one, was not able to grow up with so much familiarity to his character. But for some cute characteristics that he possesses, I came to know him.
Going back to his humle beginnings, Astro Boy was created and broadcast in Japan in 1963 with the 1980 remake coming to China in 1982 as one of the first imported foreign cartoons.
Thanks to the marvel of the new animation advancement! With the innovating 3-D animation technology, the favorite anime figure of a generation from the past is set to return to big screens later this year. The news says that this film is with a CGI (computer-generated imagery) feature. And the good news for the avid Astro Boy fanatics, it is scheduled to debut on October 23.
Definitely it will strike internationally the cinemas!
For one spoiler catch, Astro Boy’s story for this year’s showing is said to have a new Chinese girlfriend and a pet dog. It is intruiguing to hear that for some movie critics, the addition of new characters were “unnecessary and foolish to some extent” and the new pet dog that encourages and inspires Astro Boy to face his true identity and destiny was typical Disney style.
What could have been the best characters to pair with him? The Transformers who are in some way of his same breed as robots? How can there be unity with their aims if that would happen?
But despite the rising commentaries before its showing time, Zhang Zhao, the president of Enlight Pictures, declares confidence about the outcome of Astro Boy (2009). Even without that forecast, it will surely revive childhood memories of numerous fans around the globe.
Astro Boy fanatics, be ready for the remake and retake of Astro Boy’s fame!
