Check out this interesting software called the Pepakura Designer.

Basically it allows you to create paper craft models from 3D data. If you have a 3D software and you have some 3D models, Pepakura Designer can take the data from the 3D models and intelligently map it out on a paper with the vertices arranged in such a way that they form a foldable model in reality.

I’ve seen some pretty impressive stuff being made using this software. Here’s proof!

Pepakura Disney Castle

Pepakura Bumblebee

Pepakura Anime Girl

Pepakura Nemo

Pepakura Batmobile

Pepakura Designer was developed in Japan but there is an English version available.

This software is open to the public as shareware so you can download and try it freely although some advanced features are limited until you purchase a license key.

You can check out the software at Pepakura Designer.
