Dredd 3D may not be the best box office performer during its run but its narrative has been positively acclaimed under the direction of Pete Travis. The remake of Sylvester Stallone’s Judge Dredd will be available in Blu-Ray and the MediaFreaks 3D Animation Studio Blog posts this clip of a special scene.
Shot primarily in Cape Town and Johannesburg, Dredd used 3D cameras and starred Karl Urban as Judge Dredd, a law enforcer in a futuristic setting where he performs the role of the police and judge at the same time.

Thanks for the post, Arkin. I have a little movie club with some of my coworkers from DISH. Each week we pick a genre, and then we all dig through the thousands of movies available from DISH’s Blockbuster @Home movie service. We look for the best movie we can find in our given theme, and then we gather on Saturdays for a movie marathon. The theme for this week is “Post Apocalyptic”, and I was thinking about giving Dredd a try, but I was afraid that it might suck like Stallone’s version. That clip was pretty good, so I rented Dredd; we will see what the group thinks this weekend.
