The Incredible Mr. Limpet, a boring man from the mind of Don Knotts who suddenly transforms into a talking fish in order to help the Allies win the Second World War, has long been put in hold as a live-action adaptation because of a lack of director. Kevin Lima, of Enchanted fame, now fulfills that role.
The Incredible Mr. Limpet has been made into a 1964 live action / 2D cartoon animation hybrid featuring the animation of Robert McKimson and crew and the live direction of Arthur Lubin. For its updating for the 21st century, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey were rumored to play the titular role. Even director Mike Judge of King of the Hill was once thought to be the director.
Chris Chase will be the executive producer with additional producer credits attributed to Akiva Goldssman, Bill Gerber, Paula Weinstein and James Lassiter.
