HP has given the UK’s leading digital content creation (DCC) agencies a tough, yet exciting task: capturing ‘a day in the life’ of Mr. Z, a superhero designer with SFX superpowers.

Using HP’s recently–launched Z–800 workstation and Adobe’s Creative Suite software, each DCC agency selected by HP accepted the challenge to develop a 30–second animation or film clip about Mr. Z and his powers. Once all the clips are produced, they will all be joined together, to create a ‘A day in the life’ of Mr. Z.

Mr. Z uses Photoshop–style tools to manipulate the real world; using a secret device, he can save the day in a whole variety of ways. The superhero designer’s power is virtual but just like the humans who use HP Z workstations, he gets amazing real–world results. Check out the Mr. Z campaign here.

Here’s a note for from organizers, “

“Hi, just wanted to leave a note letting readers know that we have left a 30 second slot open for a UK-based individual or agency to take part in the project. Once the animation is complete, the person(s) will be invited to the film’s premiere and publicised in HP marketing material. We will award a top of the range Z-800 Workstation for our favourite clip.

If this is of interest, please email your name, contact details and some examples of your work to MrZ@porternovelli.co.uk. The person(s) selected will be loaned a top of the range Z-800 Workstation and DreamColor Monitor to create their animation.”
