The last time the MediaFreaks 3D Animation Studio Blog saw Anne Hathaway, she was rocking her tights as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Her next project is similarly as dark because it tackles the societal horrors featured in Victor Hugo’s popular fiction novel Les Miserables. This Hollywood movie adaptation will also star Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman (who is also busy shooting The Wolverine).
Les Miserables takes us to a few decades in France where Anne Hathaway plays the role of the impoverished factory worker Fantine. Hathaway was forced to resort to prostitution to make ends meet but you wouldn’t feel the outright serious tone of the movie because dialogues are sung in this musical. Les Miserables is scheduled to hit theaters this Christmas, December 25, 2012.
