Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that Marvel will retain the services of Joss Whedon to direct and write The Avengers 2. There were no details from Disney or Marvel about the actual release date of Avengers 2 but it was revealed that Whedon is signed through 2015. Whedon will also provide creative inputs to the live action TV series for a Marvel comic book property (most likely, the Hulk) and for various movies of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Phase 2. Meanwhile, the MediaFreaks 3D Animation Studio Blog has posted a classic scene in the Avengers where Captain America gives the orders to the team.
Because the movie line-up of Marvel is loaded already in 2013 (Iron Man 3 and Thor: Dark World) and 2014 (Captain America: the Winter Soldier), many people believe the latest release date of the Avengers 2 will be May 1, 2015. Also, there will be movies such as Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy so it will be hard to determine how Marvel will organize its movie schedule.
